Fabiola Estrada is a scientist with the US Environmental Protection Agency in the Pesticides Program in Region 9. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelors of Science in Molecular Environmental Biology and an M.S. in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Washington. Fabiola enjoys partnering with multiple agencies/organizations to raise awareness of pesticide safety and integrated pest management.

Ghecemy Lopez is Manager of Promotoras de la Salud in the Comprehensive Cancer Control Coalition in Service Provider Area 4 (C4-SPA4) program at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Since 2011, she has participated in programs, initiatives and projects on behalf of cancer patients and their families Dr. Lopez graduated from USC’s School of Social Work and has a Master’s Degree in Adult Education through the Ronnie Lippin Cancer Support and Navigation Program at USC.

Yamilet Valladolid works for Golden Valley Health Centers, a nonprofit organization that provides healthcare to families in Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin counties. As Director of Community and Governmental Affairs, Ms. Valladolid is an advocate for social justice, health, and equitable education. She serves as co-chair of Stanislaus 2030 and is a board member of the Latino Business Association Foundation, the Hispanic Leadership Council, and the Stanislaus Health Foundation and has a Masters in Public Health.

Alejandro Espinoza is the Chief of Community Engagement for the Desert Healthcare District/Foundation and serves as a faculty member at California State University, Fullerton, where he teaches Community Health Education. He previously served as a Program Director of Chronic Diseases and Special Projects at Latino Health Access (LHA) in Santa Ana, CA. His tenure at LHA provided him the opportunity to work with community-based organizations throughout the country assisting in the design and implementation of programs and services using the promotora model.

Hugo R. Ramirez is a Chiropractor, Life Wellness Coach (Diabetes), Community Health Worker, Certified Counselor in Reproductive Health and Family Planning, Parent Class Instructor, Child Behavioral Therapy Specialist, Aggression Replacement Therapy, and Post-Traumatic Stress Management Specialist. He holds a Diploma in Occupational Health from the Autonomous University of Zacatecas through The Health Initiative of the Americas, University of California Berkeley (UC Berkeley). For the past 27 years, Hugo has created and been in charge of Community Health Programs for nonprofit organizations. In the last thirteen years, Hugo has worked with Visión y Compromiso, where he currently serves as Senior Director of the Program Department, managing programs throughout the state of California. Hugo is a member of various coalitions that support health in underserved communities.

Amy Muratalla of Mexican origin, has been in the United States since 1980. She is now married with two daughters, who are both university students. Amy knows what it is to fight and work in the labor field, and she has worked in different industrial and business roles. She is not afraid of any job, since, for her, the fear ceased to exist from the moment she set out to achieve her goals. Today she is a Family counselor, educational prevention teacher, and PTSD specialist therapist.

Gloria Martínez has been a Health Promotora for 15 years at Hayward in prevention programs for diabetes, cardiovascular disease, HIV, breast cancer and initiatives for collective impact. For 6 months she has been a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association and supports the organization with presentations and community outreach to Latino families who have been affected by Alzheimer’s.
