Alejandro Espinoza is the Chief of Community Engagement for the Desert Healthcare District/Foundation and serves as a faculty member at California State University, Fullerton, where he teaches Community Health Education. He previously served as a Program Director of Chronic Diseases and Special Projects at Latino Health Access (LHA) in Santa Ana, CA. His tenure at LHA provided him the opportunity to work with community-based organizations throughout the country assisting in the design and implementation of programs and services using the promotora model.

Hugo R. Ramirez is a Chiropractor, Life Wellness Coach (Diabetes), Community Health Worker, Certified Counselor in Reproductive Health and Family Planning, Parent Class Instructor, Child Behavioral Therapy Specialist, Aggression Replacement Therapy, and Post-Traumatic Stress Management Specialist. He holds a Diploma in Occupational Health from the Autonomous University of Zacatecas through The Health Initiative of the Americas, University of California Berkeley (UC Berkeley). For the past 27 years, Hugo has created and been in charge of Community Health Programs for nonprofit organizations. In the last thirteen years, Hugo has worked with Visión y Compromiso, where he currently serves as Senior Director of the Program Department, managing programs throughout the state of California. Hugo is a member of various coalitions that support health in underserved communities.

Amy Muratalla of Mexican origin, has been in the United States since 1980. She is now married with two daughters, who are both university students. Amy knows what it is to fight and work in the labor field, and she has worked in different industrial and business roles. She is not afraid of any job, since, for her, the fear ceased to exist from the moment she set out to achieve her goals. Today she is a Family counselor, educational prevention teacher, and PTSD specialist therapist.

For 6 months she has been a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association and supports the organization with presentations and community outreach to Latino families who have been affected by Alzheimer’s.
