Nach erfolgreichem Abschluss seines Informatikstudiums arbeitete Holger Koch fast 15 Jahre als Berater für diverse Automobilbauer, Banken und Logistikunternehmen. Schwerpunkte dabei waren Rapid Prototyping, Produkteinführung und Problemlösung. Seit 2011 ist er bei der DB Systel GmbH - der IT-Tochter der Deutschen Bahn – angestellt. Hauptaufgaben sind die Containerisierung der IT und Förderung des Einsatzes von Open Source Software. Seit 2017 ist er Vorsitzender des Arbeitskreis Open Source der Bitkom. Seine Freizeit verbringt er mit seiner Familie im Wohnmobil und kümmert sich um die Belange der Erfurter Hochseesegler.
