Adj A/Prof See Kay Choong is currently a Senior Consultant Respiratory Physician and Intensivist at the National University Hospital, Singapore. He is also the Associate Designated Institutional Official for the National University Health System Residency Programme. Adj A/Prof See completed Advanced Specialty Training in both Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine in Singapore, a Master of Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health, and a Master of Health Professions Education at Maastricht University. He is competent in bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, ultrasound-guided pleural procedures, and thoracoscopy (pleuroscopy). His special interests include public health, medical education, and healthcare quality improvement.

A/Prof Rachael Parke is the Nurse Senior Research Fellow, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Intensive Care Unit, Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand, and Associate Head – Postgraduate Research, School of Nursing, University of Auckland. A/Prof Rachael’s research is embedded in clinical practice and addresses areas of importance to clinicians, patients, and families, to improve patient-centred outcomes for cardiothoracic surgical and intensive care patients, including programmes of research into oxygen therapy, acute kidney injury, and fluid management. A/Prof Rachael has published over 190 articles in high-impact journals and received grants exceeding NZ$20 million. She was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in 2014 and was a Health Research Council (HRC) Clinical Research training fellow during that time – the first nurse to receive such a training fellowship. Her PhD assessed the benefits of using nasal high flow oxygen therapy in patients after cardiac surgery. She is known internationally for ICU research and is a management committee member of 7 international clinical studies; has served as the Chairperson of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS) research coordinators interest group, and as the Secretary of the ANZICS Clinical Trials group executive committee – the first nurse elected to an office-bearer role in this group. She is an Editor for Australian Critical Care, on the Editorial Board of Critical Care Medicine (American journal), and an elected Director and Co-Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Foundation. She sits on the interim council of the International Forum of Acute Care trialists. A/Prof Rachael is passionate about establishing the next generation of clinician researchers and has developed and leads two research courses (BASIC Clinical Research and BASIC Research Coordination). She has also established a podcast series for those working in the ICU or establishing their own academic careers called Critical 2 Your Success.

Dr Lucy Modra is a Senior Staff Specialist in intensive care at Austin Health and Senior Clinical Fellow with the University of Melbourne’s Department of Critical Care. Her PhD examined sex differences in illness severity, outcomes and treatment of the ICU patient population in Australia and New Zealand, and was awarded the 2024 University of Melbourne Dean’s Award for Excellence in Graduate Research. Dr Lucy developed and facilitates the Austin ICU multidisciplinary clinical ethics seminar program. Run quarterly since 2018, this programme brings together ICU nurses, doctors and allied health clinicians to examine ethical questions arising from their clinical work. In 2015, Dr Lucy co-founded the Women in Intensive Care Medicine Network, now formally affiliated with the Australia and New Zealand Intensive Care Society. She teaches at critical care courses on advanced resuscitation, airway emergencies and communication skills.

Dr Lowell Ling is a Clinical Associate Professor at The Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care. He is an Intensivist with a special interest in critical care, sepsis, and organ dysfunction. His research uses epidemiological, clinical, and genomic approaches to understand and treat sepsis. He and his team have used electronic health records to estimate population-level incidence and mortality of sepsis. His research team is working on investigating the role of molecular pathogen detection techniques in basic science studies and clinical trials. He was awarded a Young Distinguished Fellow by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. He is the Secretary of the Asian Critical Care Clinical Trials Group and a member of the Asia Pacific Sepsis Alliance.

Prof John Fraser AO MB ChB PhD FRCP(Glas) FRCA FFARCSI FCICM FELSO is the Founder and Director of the Critical Care Research Group at the University of Queensland; Director of the Intensive Care Unit at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital; Co-Chair of the Global ECMOnet, Founder/Chief Medical Officer of De Motu Cordis; and Immediate Past President of the Asia Pacific ELSO. He has been awarded five professorships across major Australian universities, with over 800 peer-reviewed publications, and has received more than AUD160 million in competitive grants. In 2025, Prof John was awarded the Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to medicine and global critical care research. He is the proud father of five great children: Ben, Dom, Nick, Lucy, and Tommy, who all say he’s really just a failed footballer.

Dr Jigeeshu V. Divatia, MD, FICCM is currently Head of Critical Care at the Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, India. He was previously a Professor and Head, Department of Anaesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Indian Journal of Critical Care Medicine. He has been a past-President of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine and the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, as well as a past Editor-in-Chief of the Indian Journal of Anaesthesia. He is a member of the Specialty Board for Critical Care Medicine, National Board of Examinations. He has over 220 publications in national and international journals (H-index 49) and presentations in several international, national, and state conferences. He has been actively involved in critical care research in Asia and is an Executive Committee member of the Asian Critical Care Trials group. His areas of interest include hemodynamics, ventilation, airway management, ICU organisation, and end-of-life care.

Dr Jason Phua serves as Deputy Chief Executive (Clinical Transformation) at the National University Health System, as well as a Respiratory Physician and Intensivist at both Alexandra Hospital (AH) and National University Hospital (NUH). In addition to these roles, he is the Chair of the Asian Critical Care Clinical Trials Group and Chair of Singapore’s National Intensive Care Unit Repository. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of AH, Head of the Division of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine at NUH, President of the Society of Intensive Care Medicine (SICM) Singapore, Chair of the SICM National Investigators for Clinical Epidemiology and Research, Co-Chair of the National COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit Committee, and Chair of the Asia Ventilation Forum.

A/Prof Helen Opdam is the National Medical Director of the Australian Organ and Tissue Authority. She is a Senior Intensive Care Specialist at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne and Director of Warringal Private Hospital Intensive Care Unit. A/Prof Helen is the immediate Past-President of the International Society for Organ Donation Professionals (ISODP).

Prof Gentle Sunder Shrestha is a Professor and Neurointensivist at the Department of Critical Care Medicine, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, Nepal, and a PhD Candidate at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He completed a MD in Anaesthesiology from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (Tribhuvan University) and a fellowship in neurocritical care from St Michael’s Hospital (University of Toronto). He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, 20 book chapters, and 1 book. He is affiliated with multiple national and international societies, groups, and journals. His fields of interest are neurocritical care, critical care in resource-limited settings, and point-of-care ultrasound.

Prof David Pilcher is an Intensive Care Specialist at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and Chairman of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS) Centre for Outcome and Resource Evaluation (CORE) Clinical Quality Registry. He is an Adjunct Clinical Professor with Monash University and the Honorary Secretary of ANZICS. His interests include ICU outcome monitoring, severity of illness assessment, organ donation, lung transplantation, ECMO, and ICU informatics research.

Dr Cherylee Chang is the Division Chief of Neurocritical Care (NCC) and a Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Medicine at Duke University. She is the President-Elect of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), served as SCCM’s treasurer, and was an Associate Editor for one of SCCM’s official journals, Critical Care Medicine. Her career
