The World Biogas Expo 2026 Exhibitor List

My work concerns the intersection of politics and environmental sustainability. I have gained experience in public affairs, policy advocacy, research and writing, project and event management. Previously, I received an MSc from the London School of Economics. I am currently the Head of External Affairs at the World Biogas Association (WBA) and at the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA), striving to realise the industry’s potential of a 10% and 6% reduction in global and UK emissions respectively, and in the hardest to decarbonise sectors.

Lucy’s experience in the AD industry in the UK spans two decades, and with a background in farming, feedstock and sustainability are key interest areas along with policy and market development. Lucy and her team at Alder have worked with industry and Government in recent months, to recognise and quantify the wider benefits of AD and to consider how these could and should be valued. A change of mindset and approach will change the future development landscape, and Lucy will share insight on this topic in the dedicated LCA session.

Dr Daniel Lee began working in the gas sensing industry developing new gas sensing technologies and is now Head of Technology at Gas Data Ltd. Prior to working in the industry Daniel worked in Academia developing Magnetic Resonance Imaging hardware. Daniel has a doctorate in Physics from the University of Nottingham. His main professional interests are in new product development and safety.

Chris Huhne is the chair of the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association, the trade association for biogas developers and operators. He was the UK Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change from 2010-2 responsible for electricity market reform (including contracts for difference), energy company obligation, COP negotiations and the renewable heat incentive. Before politics, he was chief economist and managing director of Fitch ratings in charge of sovereign analysis and an award-winning economic journalist. As a consultant since 2013, he has specialised in despatchable renewables notably biogas and biomass.

Lucy Lewis has over 20 years’ experience within the anaerobic digestion and biogas sector with hands-on experience across research and development, project delivery, operational management health and safety and client relations. As Technical Manager at Marches Biogas, Lucy plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and operational excellence and is the proud recipient of the Women in Biogas award at the AD and Biogas Industry Awards 2022. Beyond her role at Marches Biogas, Lucy also owns and runs an AD plant, giving her a unique perspective as an operator of AD plants. As part of Marches Biogas, now part of the Glanua Group, Lucy is committed to advancing the role of anaerobic digestion and biogas in the UK’s net zero journey.

Karina Navarro is an Environmental Engineer and Policy Analyst at the World Biogas Association, where she supports WBA’s initiatives to advance sustainable biogas solutions by working with governments, international organisations, and industry stakeholders. With experience across Brazil, Karina has contributed to climate and circular economy projects in collaboration with UN agencies and research institutes.

Policy lead for ADBA spent 5 years as a part of the low carbon fuels team at DfT working on the RTFO and SAF mandate policy development. He has worked in agricultural and marine research institutes domestically and internationally, has a PhD in Satellite remote sensing of boreal forest fires.

Gamze Yaşar is a Policy Analyst at ADBA, specialising in biodiversity, sustainability, and climate change research. She applies evidence-based methods to create policy recommendations and coordinates the Small on-Farm AD Working Group. With experience in EU project bid writing, her expertise spans circular economy, biodiversity conservation, and environmental policy.
