Ashton is a Managing Director of Stifel Nicolaus Europe’s corporate broking practice. He has 17 years’ experience in corporate broking and is focussed exclusively on energy. Ashton has raised over $4.5billion of equity capital for UK listed international oil and gas companies, including $2.4 billion since 2017 and over $700m already in 2019. Transactions include the largest ever AIM E&P fundraise ($530m for Hurricane Energy) and the largest LSE Premium Segment E&P IPO ($460m for Energean O&G). Other recent transaction include a $265m equity raise for Energean to acquire Edison E&P, a $110 million AIM listing for Jadestone Energy and $725 million raised for Diversified Gas & Oil since January 2018. Ashton is currently a retained advisor to 11 E&P companies listed in London, and was rated the No.1 Corporate broker in 2017, 2018 and 2019 Extel rankings for oil and gas. Ashton was previously a director at Panmure Gordon, has a MBA from the University of Buckingham and a MA from Durham University. Ashton is joining the 2019 Awards of Excellence Judging Panel. The panel will be meeting on Friday 18 October to review, deliberate, discuss and shortlist the nominations received from our global network.
