Jacob (Jake) Olcott has been in the cybersecurity industry since 2005 and currently serves as the Vice President of Communications and Government Affairs for BitSight. In his role, he helps organizations benchmark their cybersecurity programs using quantitative metrics and provides thought leadership and recommendations regarding the role of directors, officers, and executives in cyber risk management. Prior to BitSight, Jake served as cybersecurity attorney to the US Senate Commerce Committee and US House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee. He also consulted with Fortune 1000 executives on cyber risk management and served as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University. Jake holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Virginia School of Law.
