Melissa Hughey, MS, RD, LD, CNSC is a nutrition support–focused dietitian with extensive experience in adult clinical nutrition. She has held roles in medical affairs and previously cared for some of the highest‑acuity critical care patients in Alabama, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and Nutrition Support. Her clinical background also includes experience in Intestinal Failure and the Home Infusion setting. Melissa is a proud graduate of the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), where she earned her BS in Nutrition, and the University of Southern Mississippi, where she completed both her MS in Nutrition and Dietetic Internship. She remains active in advancing the field through volunteer service with the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and the National Home Infusion Association. In addition to her clinical and industry experience, Melissa also teaches undergraduate Medical Nutrition Therapy at Troy University, where she enjoys supporting and mentoring future nutrition professionals.
