Sara Caples, AIA, is co-founder and principal of Caples Jefferson Architects, an award-winning New York City–based practice whose work bridges design excellence and social equity. Since founding the firm in 1987, she has led projects that create inclusive, community-centered cultural spaces, including the Queens Theatre, the Weeksville Heritage Center, and the Louis Armstrong Center. Trained in art history and architecture, Caples is also an educator and frequent lecturer at institutions including University of Cambridge, University of Miami, and Yale University, and co-author of Many Voices: Architecture for Social Equity, reflecting her ongoing commitment to design that enriches public life.
